But Your Church's churches
Seem to me more involved
In who the target market is than
Who wants to worship.
That scares me.
That makes me understand how
Those who can't stand Your name
Get ammunition...
God,
Why do we have to make this life about ourselves?
Why do those who say they are Christians,
You know, "One with Christ",
Refuse to fill out the title,
Serving themselves,
Making a mockery of Your name?
They're killing the Bride,
Your Church, Lord...
I see why You've called me
To jump right into it...
Protect me, guide me,
Open my mind...
Author notes
I am a Christian. I practice Christianity, not a religion.
I see churches and organization that say they are for Christ, and they do just the opposite. I think the dominance of the Catholic church has dismantled everything Christianity is about and it has taken 1,400 years for the Church (the body of believers has a whole) to get it back to the way is was in the very early days of the Church, when it wasn't about rituals or scripted prayers, but being true to God.
The last part of the poem is about how God is calling me to be a youth pastor, which means I am required to affiliate myself to denomiation.

this was a great idea, not a religion, becuase you see a religion as what you desribe in the poem, but you as an individula, practice what is right in christianity.. you are quite smart, for a christian .. jk
