Amaze you, I shall try
But I'm not too good at freeverse
That I must admit
Ten lines or less
Enough to get in some practice
And hope for the best
Oops, I just rhymed
A hard habit to break
This isn't turning out too well
But I hope you are amazed

Well, I've made an attempt and went with the "be original" thing, and the freeverse didn't go over so well. Ten lines doesn't seem like a whole lot, but I tried.
Well, I hope you enjoyed it, anyway.

very charming poem, done just for fun. It is not a very deep poem and it doesnt have to. An original concept.

I know what you mean by having to try NOT to rhyme. It's rather hard for me, too. Ten lines is awfully short, but I think it is a valuable exercise. Makes you plan exactly what you want to say ahead of time. Anyway, good luck in the contest.
