Take My Hand, My Child

Waiting by the dock
Wishing I were somewhere else
This life isn't what I wanted
I can't handle it anymore

And a shadow appears beside me
And he says "Take my hand,
I will help you end it all
Right now."

"You won't have to put up with it
Your suffering will be over
Just follow me"

I consider what this shadow says
When a light appears to my right
"Take my hand, my child
I will show you the path
That your life will lead"

"You don't have to end it all
Times may be tough now
But it will all work out"

The shadow appears upset
"Don't listen to that nonsence
Your life will never be better"

And at this the light seem ammused
"My dear child, I am here only to guide you
The choice is yours to make"

And at this I see a little girl
holding her mothers hand
Beautiful blonde hair blowing in the wind
And smiles on thier faces

"Is this me" I ask

"Yes, my child, it is indeed"
I slowly stand and face the light
I reach out to grab the hand
That is in front of me

"I have made my choice
And I choose to live
With You forever"

A very straightforward inner debate of good and evil, a lovely piece very tender the imagery is simple and refreshing. Here as well the use to capitalise every begining of lines but it does not prevent the understanding. Thank you for entering my contest and good luck.
