Weaving coursing through my bones
Hit hard with rain and God's hate
Cracking my mortal soul in half
And sewing it back together
With golden thread and blood
Coughing up yesterdays love
In this uncanny calm
Painting blue sky incarnadine
With you
Absorbing the decibels
And learning how to reproduce
The sound of thunder
Author notes
ahh riding horses through a rainstorm, calling back to my lost girls
much love and many memories went into this, though i dont think any of them are obvious...

I loved the lines,
"Painting blue sky incarnadine
With you
Absorbing the decibels
And learning how to reproduce
The sound of thunder", it really was a wow moment!!! Just beautiful.

Horses hooves thundering as they are ridden across the plains - interesting way to interpret this challenge - liked the flow anad the form used here.

I would have never guessed what this was actually about if I had not read your author notes on this piece. It made me read it again, and I thought it was truly interesting. I must say that these lines thoroughly impressed me:
With you
Absorbing the decibels
And learning how to reproduce
The sound of thunder
Loved that. It sounds truly beautiful. I appreciate the reminiscing that went into this poem. Well done and good luck in the contest. -
