As I sit alone on the shore looking out to sea
I'm reminded of the Lighthouse standing guard above me
Like a Soldier keeping watch over this vast domain
Guiding ships and sending light to bring them home again
Like our Savior Jesus Christ walks with us each day
Guides our pathway that we take, all along the way
He is our special Lighthouse upon our sea of life
Loving us and holding us through the trials of strife
He loves us unconditionally each and every day
Talks to us and tells us His Father sent Him our way
He is the Lighthouse in my life, He saved me from my sin
His out stretched arms invited me, He safely took me in
So God sent this beautiful Lighthouse to everyone you see
He sent Him to the lost, the lonely, and to you and me
Let us all thank God for Jesus, our Lighthouse evermore
Know this Lighthouse will greet us on Heaven's golden
shore
Author notes
I often think of the great Gospel Song The Lighthouse so beautifully referring to Jesus as The Lighthouse

Katie, this is a nice clean write, you certainly combined the ideas of Our Lord with the Lighthouse; and you did it in a personal non-preachy way! Good work, my friend. -
a beautiful poem. the rhythm and rhyme are great. you did a really great job with this. Jesus as Our Savior included gives this just the extra ooomph! for He is truly our lighthouse in every sense of the word. thank you for sharing this. keep writing. God bless you
