Empty tables, empty chairs,
You were important once,
To someone somewhere.
Your seats were filled with the warmth of a family,
Your table covered with the food of plenty.
But now you are dull and empty.
Your seats are cold and bare.
But you were important once...
To someone, somewhere.

I believe we are all important to at least one person somewhere in the world even if we don't think so.
Thanks for entering and good luck! -
Sad
Aww...so sad. I love how well you wrote this, given the time (15 minutes) which makes me think that you could do so much if given more time. I think all of the poets in this contest could do better with more time...but, then, it wouldn't be much of a contest. Good luck with this. Hope you wish me the same. Of course, I doubt my poem will make me cry like yours did me. -
