the web was spun
from spidery lies
that crawled upon me
insinuating themselves
with sinewy silkiness
weaving the fabric of my being
a trapped fly without wings
decaying in a tangled web
weighting me down
with futility

The strength of lies as the strength of a strand on the spider's web have incredible strength... we can become in bondage to them until it is difficult to tell the trapped from entrapment. Nicely penned truth.

Great wording, fabulous background. Thanks so much for sharing. Love and light, Butterfly.

I can see the futility in the course of this poem even felt it as I think most readers will and be thinking 'Been there. It is exceedingly good.
