When I saw you first I knew
you would walk away
with my heart
Never knowing
No never
Looking at me with those big, sad
bruised eyes.
You told me
there had been an accident some weeks before
On your bike
You stood there, swollen still.
We talked.
You looked down most of the time.
From far away, you said
You came.
So did I.
Your words carried you,
burrowing inside me.
Made your home there
from far away,
my love, my Swan
Rest your little head there once more
I pray,
rest
and wander no more.
