he held me with his Van Gogh hands,
to paint emotions across canvas
a master of shading and shadow
that added layers of depth
with deliberate strokes
soft and alluring
and I was crafted into being
where both sides of my persona
existed with reverence
appreciated for what I was
no longer hidden in a coy smile
I was no Mona Lisa
but I was a masterpiece
that now shone brilliantly
with the infusion from his pallet
allowing my beauty
to seep from once sallow skin
into the glorious eye
of the beholder

Provocative artistry
An artist at work, the bubbling of feelings surface to "paint emotions" with "deliberate stokes", behold " into the glorious eye of the beholder". Breathtaking, such moving words on the beauty of artistry. Your poem paints a lovely image of this art, the artist at work and his subject matter. Love your poem. I may be a bit bias about the artist in the poem, I have a great love for Van Gogh. The man would not have had to cut his ear off for me. I'd have taken him with or without an ear. He was a great impressionist and a true artist at heart. Van Gogh's work from charcoal drawings to impressionistic paintings present his passions in moments of his life. Your poem fits the painting so well, it makes one wonder who is the artist.
