Sometimes he used many words
to say very little.
Sometimes he used few words
and said so much.
His words look just like
words you've read before.
till they creep into you
and make you love, hate,
pity, and adore him all at
once.
You put it best Bukowski-
"you are not reading
this on a page.
the page is reading you."
Author notes
Charles Bukowski- a drunken genius.

Well done.
If you like Bukowski you should read Christopher Harder's poetry on this site. His style is quite similar only his material is fresh. Also, if you have never listened to Hostage by Bukowski I highly recomend it. There is a piece on it(it's a live reading), where he talks about how he receives fan letters then talks about his quality of life which at that time had improved vastly compared to the bar rooms, factories and flop houses of his youth. He sums up the piece, after describing his home by saying he has a young boy in a cage in the yard who writes all of his stuff, feeds him raw whores and whiskey, belt buckles him real good once in a while "...the critics say my stuff has never been better..." Christopher Harder was this young boy in the cage and he has been set free. Have not seen anything recent by him but I ask for more every once in a while. So please read his old stuff and encourage him to write/post something.

You have described Bukowski well and in his own style. His poetry does attract and repel, evoke and provoke.
Most peoples reactions are, I believe, similar and very few of those who have really read his work have fixed feelings. How could we have when his work is so diverse.
Well done -
i chose him too.. the harsh wildness in his poetry is great.. well this write is as straight-forward as his writing.. and nice choice of his lines..
love. sam beat of luck in the contest

I just had to add the oldpoetry link rather than that of another poetry site as the idea is to relate back to Oldpoetry
After having said that, your poet was and still is one of our love or hate poets. He wrote as he thought and spoke and I admire him for that. I don't agree with all he said but I've often admired the raw honesty of his poetry.
