There's so much I want to tell you
There's so much I want to say
But there's so much you can't know
So much I can't betray
I want you to think highly of me
Want to stay somewhat good in your eyes
If I tell you everything now
I'm afraid I might die
I don't like lying to you
Telling you little half-truths
But for now that's all I can say
Until I decide to admit the truth
Please don't hate me
Please don't get angry dear
I'm not the one you though I was
I'm not anything near
So for now I'll let you think
That I can never tell a lie
All the while I'm sitting back
And crying inside
And yes, I feel bad about not telling you
I know I really should
Now just isn't the right time
I'd tell you if I could.
The hidden life inside
Is not something you should see
The only one you know
Is the good and perfect me
So my dear, I'll leave you with this
In time you'll know what's true
But to keep my self safe
I'll keep from telling you.

This sounds a lot like a problem that a dear friend of mine happens to be having right now. It's a good write, and the notes make me think that there could be a lot going on in your head. I like this though...so, good luck in the contest and thank you for entering.

this is so nice. This (and you probably do not want to hear this) was really cute. It was quite original.
I loved this. This was done very well. good job for throwing it out this way. I think all of these other talented writers will identify with the idea here. Your writing is almost conversational and I value that in prose because it makes it more reachable. The rhythm and rhyme are lovely. A sense of warmth and light came over me while reading.
