i'm at the top.

i'm at the highest point this city has.
  and i can see e v e r y t h i n g.

&& the cars, down below
all they do is remind me of my empty journey
my hollow destiny

i can feel the wind blowing
whispering secrets, lies, promises, all into my ear
i should listen less

there's something about the highest point
that brings everything else so.far.down
&& it's never been harder
to

          up.

    personally, i find this to be the strongest piece i've read by you. tied very well to the picture, too. great placement, etc. etc.

    --I love the line "I should listen less" ... I think we should all take a page from your book and follow this. We claim we "overheard" this and that but we don't overhear anything ... we purposely listen. Why? Because we're nosey. Why do we care about other people's lives? I'm not sure ... well, I'm not like that (heh, seriously) but most people are. I hate when people easedrop on my conversations just because I wonder what they could possibly care about.

    There is something about the highest point ... you fall a hell of a lot harder.
