Just another crazy night

Arm in arm, walking around the football field late at night,
& singing our own made up, emo version of "It's a Small World After All"
& Jeffree Star's "We want..".
Two best friends just hanging out.
We stumble over each other,
causing me to fall & I take him with me
as we sprawl out on the grass, laughing our heads off.
Anyone who saw us would think we were high as crazy as we are.
But it was just one of our hyper nights.

He lays his head on my stomach & I play with his hair,
talking about anything that comes to our mind.
Happy things, sad things, ridiculous things...
Everything we can to make the night go slower.
My best friend.. I live for these moments.

We eventually run out of words to say
& he suddenly jumps up, his eyes shining.
I know not to trust that look,
It's the same one that always get us in trouble.
"No." I tell him before he even speaks.
He whines and begs for me to atleast hear him out.
I give in, knowing that he'd pout all night if I didn't.

A few minutes later we're climbing up the steps on the side of the gym
and I'm beating myself up for agreeing to do this.
He's so excited and hyper that he can't stop talking, making me scared that someone will hear us.
When we finally get to the top, I'm trembling because I hate heights,
& I just know that we're gonna get busted.
My best friend....I sometimes question his sanity.

He pulls out the paint cans & hands me the camera.
"Myspace pic." He informs me when I give a weird look.
I shake my head & urge him to hurry as he does his thing.
The writing looks like a 3 year old did it, which is I guess what he was going for.
We hurry down the ladder & run like crazy until we get back to his house.

Back home & we're both in bed, laughing like we're so cool,
like we weren't scared like little kids for the first hour being back.
He whispers to me goodnight & closes his eyes.
I smile to myself, so thankful for him & our times together.
My best friend... I don't know what I'd do without him.
