A Lone Dreamer's Wanting

Alone in a room bustling with people
the picturesque of liveliness and joy,
I hate them,
resent them,
silently wonder why they don't see me
as they leave,
they don't even say goodbye
or wish me farewell,
they take their going away gifts
ungraciously,
without thanks
and walk away,
as if nothing happened,
I silently wish
them ill,
for them to trip on their own egos
on their way out,
so I don't
feel so alone
in my tears...

Author notes

Something about writing is so stress relieving, as if you could trap the pain of a moment and somehow weaken it. I hope it may have the same effect on those that have read my poetry. I also hope that you may read this twice. Pause at different times, like once at the ends of each line and on second reading, pause at the comas. Well anyways thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy.

Please tell me what you think

It is wonderful Jess. Sad but an excellent write. I did as you recommended and read it twice, I guess it gave more feeling to the poem.
I loved this line: "for them to trip on their own egos" and sometimes I wish that too for certain people.

Where have You been all this time?
Keep on writing, I missed u
