School Was_____________

School was fun for me and I’m really going to miss it when I graduate. I’m going to miss all my friends because they’re the ones that made this school year worth while. It wouldn’t have been anything if it wasn’t for them. Yeah, I got hurt twice, but if it wasn’t for friends to help me through it, then that would’ve been good and I’d still be hurt over both of them. Friends were the one that my school years fun, every year I looked forward to seeing my friends. Thank you God for giving me the friends you did because I’d probably be lost and alone without them. Thank you so much, God. I love them all with all my heart.
Band was my second favorite thing in school that made it fun. Not to mention all the crazy band kids on band trips all over Oklahoma and come May, the big band trip to San Antonio, Texas for three days. That’s going to be a blast and Hatchmo promised that the drumline won’t get arrested again like they did four or five years ago. When I was told the story about the MacArthur High School drumline getting arrested in San Antonio, I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t breathe. I’ll tell you the story and see how bad you laugh:
  About four years ago, Hatchmo took the band to San Antonio. Correction six years ago because I was in sixth grade when Mrs. Allen told me the story. So anyway, they went down there for three days and one of those days, the whole drumline was practicing and getting ready for a performance. One of them, I’m not mentioning his name, got hot and took off his hat and laid it down and went on to practicing. Somebody came by and dropped some money in his hat. They all stopped and stared at the money in the hat and then went on practicing again, but this time it turned into an actual performance because people kept putting money in the hat and they collected over two hundred dollars. That’s when the police came by and asked if they had a permit to be doing that and they said, “No.” So, the police arrested them for disturbing the peace. Hatchmo had to go to the jail and explain what was going on and they got off the hook. I could only imagine what Hatchmo was thinking when he learned that the entire drumline got arrested. It must have been hilarious and it is too bad that I missed it. I’d give anything to see that.
That’s why my school year was, fun with a capital “F”. I love it, I mean between the friends and band, what’s not to love about school. It really is a wonderful place and there’s nowhere I’d rather be than right here at MacArthur High School with the best friends that anyone can have and the best band in the city of Lawton. School really is a blast when you’re surrounded by the ones you love and the things you love doing.
