A Promise

A promise not to cut,
A promise not to carve.
A promise not to bleed,
A promise not to starve.
A promise not to die,
Though these tears I cry.
A promise to strive,
When I wish not to be alive.
A promise to live on,
A promise to remain here.
A promise I cannot handle,
Though it's only been a year.
Selfish ways, shortened days;
A promise I struggle to keep.
No help, merely hope,
For this promise I must meet.

    Yes indeed Beautiful! The rhyme fits very well and the words come together so perfectly! I think it is muchly awesome.
    "No help, merely hope,
    For this promise I must meet."
    I really like them lines alot and I dont know why, something just clicks in my head. I relate to it and it is a great way to end a poem!

    I loved this poem. This is one of the most talkative pieces of work I've ever encountered in my entire career. It read itself to me. That is all I can say. Perfect rhyme was great, flow as well just every thing wonderful. Keeping them out poet. All lines were okay!

    I really like this Mandy. Normally I hate rhyme, but this is indeed good. I know you'll make it through, you have friends like myself to help you along the way if needed. We all know I come to you when I need to. I love you sissah...my liil lover.
