Author notes

This picture was taken by myself using my digital camera while I was on vacation in Arizona with some friends in Feb 2006. We traveled out to Sedona's red rock and spent time meditating within the vortex. The picture you see is of Sedona's red rock mountains.

We all need that place to fly away beyond the world to others and find ourselves. Breathtaking piece and I love the image too. I could easily find myself at peace there.

Hmmm....(that is, honestly, the first thought that entered my mind) a nice scenery picture, definitely. Arizona, right? Somewhere around there I bet...in some cases, a sideline object (in the case of this particular picture, the tree) can add a certain "something" to the object behind it, but in order for that to usually occur, one is slightly out of focus and one is sharp, either the sideline object or the main object (the rock formations). But here they both seem to be just barely slightly out of focus... I personally think the tree is obstructing too much of the rocks behind it. But, on a good note, there are many things about this picture that I do like, one of them being the vivid colors. Very nice color contrast between the rocks and sky as well. I also like looking at the little barely visible squiggly clouds in the background...for some reason, looking at them makes me happy.
