My Oasis, Beloved Companion

My Oasis, Beloved Companion

God made me desert of your oasis
thirsting for your cool and wet pools of bliss
surrounding your roots of your bushy palms
embracing you with endless heat and calm.
I am your sand giving way to your feet
touching you in bits as you pass fleet.
If you fall, I cushion you tenderly
grab handfuls and throw me up gleefully.
I am harsh to all who do not belong
yet, for you, my embrace lasts so long,
Thirsty travelers desire lustfully
to ravage your sweet charms before they flee.
Yet you remain protected as I stay
what you need under God as pilgrims pray.

Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari

Author notes

Dear friends

This is who I am when my oasis is around and as the oasis is not a mirage. Such is the love symbiosis.

In the past week, I have realized that this type of love is beyond not only my grasp, but millions of people's. It's a dynamic that you get to participate in if you are in some way 'Hollywood material' (and many are - I am sure you included). So, alas, it affects my appreciation of your poem, as I grieve this as illusion for myself. However, it is beautifully written - you have a lot of talent!

    Dear brother,
You used a beautiful allegory to describe your eternal love to your beloved lady. You are right. Such kind lady can be that source of happiness. May it remain fresh. The last line is so true and it shows your thank for God for your love and for being together.
Thank you for sharing with us :-)

    Two hearts beating as one,
Two lovers the world has come,
To see them joined in love,
A gift to all from heaven above.

      Smoosh Sister

      My oasis seduced me
      clear eyed pool eyes
      and her sweet location
      of gently blowing sighs.

    BEYOND BEAUTIFUL!

From the very beginning,it seems the love of the oasis, was like the love of man for his love. The "symbiosis" portrayed here in descriptive imagery in abundance the co-relationship of one with the other...the oasis embracing the palms as lovers embrace
Their is a beauty here that is so peaceful yet passionate...A very beautiful creative write, of delight!

      I agree

      She hypnotizes many caravansary
      who risk my sands
      one week our aniversary
      joining our disparate lands.

    My sweet Orpheus

    Mirage I am not
    all is real here
    True love you've got
    there is no fear.

    You are so strong
    with words of passion
    weaving cords so long
    of love's pure fashion.

      Niece like a daughter...

      You learn and seek
      similar love and care
      to rub your cheek
      and your passion share.
