Everyone says photos are windows to the soul,
A moment in time captured, a blink of life.
Such an insight into a time gone by
can tell you so much about them,
and yet leave so much to mystery.
Eyes lifted skyward, as if seeking an answer
to life's little mysteries.
Pondering, thoughts unknown.
Or is it a look of confusion,
wondering about the polar negatives of life;
why life can be so cruel at times,
and at other times can be so kind.
Mayhaps a look of sweet serenity?
Everything falling into place.
Sitting somewhere in a calm refuge
from the storms of a torrid world.
Photographs are memories
so many people say.
So maybe this lady in the photograph,
is harboring sweet memories gone by?
So much can be told from a single glimpse,
yet so many answers remain.
And all this thought brought on
by a photograph, and a single peek,
into someone else's mind.

I thought this was an amazing photo. I wanted to do something with it, so I added a picture frame so I could add it to my write.

Awesomely Beautiful Write
Starting off with "photos being a window to the soul" you have gone in depth with what may be going on in the mind of the one photographed.."eyes lifted skwyard as looking for lifes' mysteries" The poet has expanded and analyzed very thouroughly what may be going on inside her.....A very wonderful write...It flows lovely and is very easy to read....I am very Proud of my Son for this work....and it is what I would like to write myself..But he does it better! -
You have captured the essence of the picture beautifully. One moment in time, one split second, we will never know what she was thinking about and I doubt if even she can remember now, but all the thoughts and possibilities you have written about, causing us all to wonder just what her thoughts were.
