Silence,
Gnaw fervent at your heart,
unspoken battle, fading friends,
pulsate through time and space,
Louder
Softer
Gone.
Nothing stings so ceaselessly
as nothing.
Nothing can feel so solid,
as when you cut through air with knives
af cruel sharp words,
that linger on your tongue, as they reverberate
in hurting ears, and nothing
fills the air once more.

This was my favorite line: Nothing stings so ceaselessly
as nothing.
I pondered that for a bit and it's so true.
Your ending was particularly effective too. I'm very familiar with that feeling and you captured it beautifully.
Very nice entry and best of luck. Thanks for entering too! -
sweet!

Silence as never ending. It can be out most intimate pleasure AND our most ultimate pain.
Very Nice write!
Bravo!

Nothing stings so ceaselessly
as nothing.
That's a really great line, probably the best in the poem...which I liked by the way. -
Wow this is really afective. I really like it and only hope that for others it opens up the mind to the hurt we place in others by our words.

i think you misspelled of..
I like the progression from Louder to softer to gone.
You made silence feel like a parade, which I would think is a difficult thing to do.
I like this line best
...that linger on your tongue, as they reverberate
it added a whole different feel to the poem.
Overall you achieved a very emotional write.

Philosophers have written about nothingness or 'néant' -- this lean and sharply focused poem shows the idea as reality, it's existential.

I like this.
"Silence,
Gnaw fervent at your heart,
unspoken battle, fading friends,
pulsate through time and space,
Louder
Softer
Gone."
That was my favorite part.. well done.
Good luck in your contest!
