The Moon, The Wind, and the Clouds - A Tragedy

Missing image
the moon hangs
in the dark, clear sky
speaking riddles -
tales of what lies ahead -
but it will never reveal
it’s true intentions

wind rushing the scant clouds by -
in a hurry to get somewhere
other than here

where are they going in such a rush?

come back and stay a while

sit with me

but the wind sweeps them away
hoping I will not hear
the chattering as they are whisked
swiftly past the tree tops
telling of unfortunate events

but I only hear whispers
of heartache to come

will you not tell me what is to come?

will you only whisper in my ear
a terrible nonsense
of dread?

please speak to me in clear thoughts
tell me what is to be!

if I only hear whispers
what shall I do with this knowledge
of doom?

what can I do to stop it?

where and when is this doom to come?

TELL ME, PLEASE!

I sit here and cry
yet you will not answer my plea!
you let me sit here and fantasize
of all the possible things
that could be

the moon laughs at me
as I sit in despair
never to figure out the details of its riddle
never to hear the clouds clear warning

the outcome only revealed
when tragedy strikes
and it's too late
to save a life

Author notes

To all my friends, I really am not in despair, as I was last year, and I am not feeling guilty about not knowing and stopping it, but these poems keep pouring out of me, whether I feel guilty or not, so am just letting them all come out as they need to. I love you all, you're the bestest!

*hugs* and *holds* I know you're not in despair but I'm still gonna hold and hug you. I love you and this is a great poem. It kind of reminded me of Charles' Dickens Christmas carol...don't ask me why...it just did.
