Accursed Duplicity

In this circle does squat,
a horribly boorish goat
A pompous little twat;
nay worth a sully groat

Full of gossip and deceit,
who thinks himself a fox
I say, 'Fie!', Sirrah Conceit
On thee I curse, a pox!

    Simply Capital!

    This poem has a wonderful, classical feel to it. I commend you for using many words rarely written or uttered in the U.S. - boorish, sully, groat, fie and sirrah. (I kept up with you but "sirrah" sent me to the online dictionary. lol) If I didn't know better, I'd think you transported yourself here from Victorian England. Jolly good work!

    I daresay this hurt as much as a swat upside the head, I believe I felt the air swoosh by and was compelled to duck from something not even aimed for me!

    Lol I see Mat had already asked to be the knight in shining armour, could not have a better person to fight the good fight! Foxes are sly ones, you never hear them come

      Would You?

      [chuckle]

      Just teasing.

      But yeah, I was a bit miffed at the time, so I just had to let it out. Better to do so with poetry, than across the person's head. [grin]
