As I kneel upon my knees
Looking up at Thy Cross of wood
I pray that you will make me
Truly kind and sinfree and good.
I try to keep myself free from evil
And exclude all thoughts impure
But I know that if I fall into sin
There is only one single cure.
You will strike me down rightfully
And I will be sent to suffer in Hell
And there will I endure a loss of grace
Until the judgement knell.

I respect your wish to view God as a very strict loving father but please remember that He IS loving as well and He will surely only punish us if we continually refuse to mend our ways and try to live a dcent life.

Jolly good! But not enough about the HIDEOUS AGONY awaiting all filthy SEX-SINNERS who will burn in TOTAL HELL. Keep on writing and have a nice day.

The comment luvdrkchocolate wrote, I kinda feel the same way. I can see why you always go back to that, it's a great evengelistic tool, but why not write about the beauty of God? sure he has a fearful side, which is why we strive to be good, but what about when we are good? When we love him so much, and he helpus in life. Show us the good side to him. This is all my own personal opinion though. I'm sure you have your own reasons for what you write. Either way your poems are beautiful.

Oh my. This is some poem that you wrote here.
It almost sounds like maybe a bed time prayer but it got kind of mean and scary towards the end. I guess I just don't picture it all so fiercely when I think of God. Just my thoughts though.
