At this time in my life
Battles come at me left and right
I’m getting too tired to fight
But I continue
I push fourth
I keep on fighting the inner pain
I know I have a lot to gain
Rehab is a place
Where I found myself
I learned how to be right,
I learned how to fight
There’ll always be those bitches
Who try and bring me down
There’ll always be a time
When all I can do is frown
But that’s ok
Cuz I can deal
I am strong
I have the power to fix
Something I see that’s wrong
I know now its ok to cry
To be sad and wonder why
I open my eyes
And I see what I got back
I’m not gonna let it go
Because you see I care
Even though some things in my life
Really seem unfair
But why I’m here, is to show you
That happiness can be found
Your turn will come around
Even when you feel you can’t go on
Even when everything seems so wrong
You think no one cares
Reach deep down inside
And there you will find
The strength you need
To succeed

I like this poem. I decided to come to Job Corps for a fresh start. I let people get the best of me all the time. I have to fight to keep my head up and keep a smile plastered on my face even though it's fake. Your poem made me want to fight to be a stronger person. so there for I like it a whole bunch. Thank you... I needed to read something like this.

I like the strength in these words. It's obvious that no one is going to stand in the way of you getting what you want, and I like that assertive tone on the overall effect of the poem.
The slang you use (for example: "cuz" and "gonna") takes away from the potential this poem has to be fantastic, as do the spelling mistakes, the lack of punctuation, and the occasionally forced rhyme. But in the end, what makes this a poem isn't the little intricacies; it's the way you felt when you wrote it, and that was obviously of a firm resolution when it comes to your life.
