In 1726 The Supreme Privy Council was formed in Russia.
Now, was anyone privy to this information?
Since it dealt with an upcoming nation?
What took so long to spill the beans,
Or just a secret for kings and queens?
And where during all this fussy fun,
Were the privies when they needed to run?
Were their outhouses crowned in gold,
Or are these questions way too bold?
Were chamber pots the item to use,
Or is it time to call a truce?
Tattled secrets are more fun to share,
When government gossip is laid bare.

I am sorry I allow the pre-writes to contest in many ways. But this is not too bad. Not too good. Not too bad.

Congratulations Susie, well deserved trophy!

Haha!
First off, nice word play. Very funny. Secondly, it was actually 1726, but a half century off wasn't bad. You definately picked an original subject, The Privy Council is not something you see a poem about every day.
The last two lines are my favorite, though the entire poem is very fun. The end line rhyme added the to the peppy fun to what not many people would call a peppy-fun affair, so kudos to turning that around. I'm not a frequenter of happy poems (surprising, I know) but I do suppose this is a good example of you. Seeing suns on the edges of poems is just so rare for me.
Anyways, great poem, thankyou for it and the birthday wishes!

Lol, this is very good! I would be willing to bet that those outhouses were gilded, but I really am not privy to that information
Great job, and the best of luck!
