I never believed in truth, in trust,
Cynicism is my middle name.
My mother gave it to me,
to remind me that the world lies.
Surprise!
Everyone who says they love you
is a liar.
Author notes
Short, sweet.
I am not really feeling good today.

nice and crabby, just right, like a Brautigan poem, very nice
this poem looks by format as though it were just thrown together, but it has, immediately on taking a second look, like it sort of has wings the way the lines stagger, long and sharp in their content, like little claws that want you to know this is a tough and honest little poem about watchful eyes as words cheap words without action say, everyone who says, 'I love you' or i like you or my goodness what a nice pair of shoes...the poet has drawn from some influences in this surprisingly complex poem, among those influences would be a couple of tablespoons of Richard Brautigan, or some other post beat poets. She may have read them, perhaps not, but the poetry she reads may be very much influenced by these important poets. nice. very nice. edgy. ,,,Danni

Wow. So much packed into so little. I do like your ever-so-true surprise at the end. This little write holds a lot of truth. I like it. Good job, and good luck. Thanks for entering.

This is really good. I would have to say that I don't agree with the words here but it is a good piece.
