Night Scream
I awaken to find myself weightless
and my flesh burning with the sulfurous stench
that invades my nostrils.
Squinting as a coal black fog dissipates before me.
I find myself deep within this pit,
surrounded by primal creatures,
howling in an unholy cacophony of lust and hate.
I writhe at the stench of vomit on your breath
as you press to kiss my lips.
O how I tremble at the thought of no escape.
When perchance; a pin of light appeared...
My heart fell to the pit of my stomach
as I franticly crawled to it’s beckoning call of escape.
As my splintered fingers clawed
at the jagged wall
you paw at my legs pulling me back,
back to the cold grey flesh of your being.
With all my extremities flailing
and my naked body soaked in blood
and sweat I loose ground.
Your claws dig deep into me when suddenly...
a voice sounds in my ears jerking me to another realm.
“Sweetheart… get out of bed,
the school bus will be here in fifteen minutes!"
