A periwinkle blue
Stretched across the sky
The sun is slipping down
Moving right before my eyes
Clouds soon fringed in pink
Softest hues of rose
Another sprinkled moment
And then gold begins to show
Dancing 'cross the clouds
In shimmering delight
In eager anticipation
For the dark and cool of night
The pinks soon blaze to red
The golds deepen their hues
Oranges join the ribbons
Embossed in darkest blues
The colors swell to climax
Then slowly taper down
The reds begin to darken
Clouds wear a crimson crown
From blue to deepest purple
The sky begins to shift
The stars begin to sparkle
And the clouds begin to drift
Now the color's nearly gone
I release a blissful sigh
My heart has spread its wings
And danced in sunset sky

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS POEM. IT FLOWED SO EASILY AND PAINTED SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE. IT WAS AS IF I WAS THERE WATCHING ONLY I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE WORDS AS WELL AS YOU HAVE DONE TO DISCRIBE A SUNSET. I RELEASE A BLISSFUL SIGH RIGHT ALONG WITH YOU. -
What wonderful hues you share in these lines - liked the purple you have used here in the background and lettering too.
