Love is just a word, a word that is
Unsuited for this bittersweet feeling
That flows all through me
Sometimes raging like a tempest
Other times peaceful and serene.
When I am wrapped tight
Inside your loving arms
The world, filled with hate and anger,
Fades softly away, until it's just
You and me, safe and protected
The world can't touch us
We're an eternity away.
There are no words to describe
The way I am with and without you
Thinking of you fills me with peace
When I struggle to find my way.
Though we argue and fight
It's because we care so much,
The pain others give me everyday
Doesn't matter to me and you.
I have no way to say what I feel
The words just don't fit this
Bittersweet feeling... So I'll say,
In a phrase used timelessly,
I love you...
