how quiet this night
as night tucks the sun in his bed
worn and weary, his leggings
fluttered in heavens that were hard
to keep warm
If I look at mountain silhouette,
I only see you, weeping out loud;
that open-mouthed silent howl
I miss you, like darkening horizon
misses her bright lover
I have only your nightly grief
to remind me
it has been a stone age
since I climbed that chin
to place a cautioned kiss there
dear god, in heaven,
who draws curtains
and veils
give me this moment
to sing a lullaby to him,
who wails and weeps
a lakeful of tears
that you sink into

Sighhh...Ohhh, how I miss that chin I loved so well...Beautifully, mournfully, proudly done, my Sister...Good luck in Lynda's contest, Sweetie...

amazing!
The imagery and metaphor here is amazing and the emotion is truly astounding!
The words jump off of the page and into my heart....
Unique, intense, and beautiful...

sometimes, even a positive , uplifting attitude cannot take away such pain...I lost my best friend 11 years ago,m and everyone said that "time heals all wounds" ...I am a positive person, but simply...that statement is false...I feel it so strong still after 11 years and on Jan 31, I lost my MOther in law and now the grief just keeps adding thorns to my heart, so I can relate, Sweetie....Take care and

Does this poem speak of the wolf or the wolf's spirit . . . it does to me. My daughter will have to read this . . . for some reason she has loved the wolf almost from the time she was born.
