The dusty trail
wore from cattle runs
the night pushing and bullying the day
fight for the right of the sky
pork and beans hum a tune
just the cattle and me and horse
the breeze plays with the tall grass
with nothing to do
I watch sunset
the most pretty thing on the earth
when I watch it I think
think of my young life
were it'll go and who I will love
I think of the creation God gave me
to watch everything
I sleep under the stars
I count them until my dreams come
from the tune the breeze and cattle play
nothing is as good as the cowboy's life

I really like the points you bring out. you really did a good job on this but there are some places where it sounds good choppy and others you have added pronouns and extra words. I would suggest trying to do one or the other. I think I'd vary the third to last line a little too maybe somthing like I count them until my dreams come. but good write and remember its you work (:
