I couldn’t get away from you; you pulled me in too far
Caught and tangled in your manipulating ways, tell me who you are
Cursing, painful words, hits to my self esteem,
Kissing, hugging, laughing, then back to hurtful things
Still I stayed with you, at the time I didn’t know why
Looking back I thought I saw hope for change in your eyes
Illusions and sugar-coated stories, lies I made of you
I love you far too much, leaving you I couldn’t do
Finally I came to my senses I realized you’ll never change
Why did I put up with you for so long? This question is so strange
Enough was enough; it was time for me to go
You said you’ll change and for me to stay
and finally….I said….no!

Very intruiging last line. Some phrasing issues, but they can be overlooked.
Good impact. =]
