brightly, brightly and with beauty
patient potential, hums

becoming shall be in the fullness of its moment

perfection isn't dormant within incomplete

smooth featureless sphere

sat upon the wall

impervious to any number of misguided king's horses

and wrong-minded king's men

Secure, understanding all, unstained with the taint of knowing

what levitates cannot fall

what is pliant cannot shatter

centered being emits gravitational field

impervious to any other planetary body

tides' potential to exist

waits upon a creative impulse

to brush the sky with the luminescence

of a silvery orb, housing a mystic persona

to accept a mantle of form upon gathered cohesive atoms

to coalesce on one path for a breath of time

defined in a vessel distinct from the froth

Author notes

This is 25 lines but I noticed the line count showing on the right is 38...this must be due to spacing, it is only 25 lines of text.

For those who've asked what I'm referencing...The revelation of Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanics that I touch on in this piece is that all matter is formed from pure energy, and all energy is one. So we are each a piece of something much larger, that we remain connected to. Though in effect, the energy that creates each individual, that makes us percieve seperate selves, is a fragmenting of what we truly are. Imagine cornrow braids with heavy beading...we are the beads, but it's all one head of hair. So what would make existance as a smaller fraction of your own totallity an existance of value? In this piece the metaphor is of a single petal in a vast garden of blossoms, the garden in it's totallity is beautiful, but when looking at the garden, you do not appreciate seperately the beauty of a single petal. But with a camera with excellent resolution, a photo of that single petal, at a high dpi (definition per square inch) shows depth and nuance to the beauty that combines to make the garden and allows you to appreciate that garden to a greater degree.

I was impressed with this poem, with this poem, with your overall thoughts written in these lines. Lots of alliteration throughout and such depth of the topic you have written in these lines. For that you certainly get these three applauds.

A nice way of looking at everything under the microscope, the real beauty in a small piece...you have skillfully crafted some thought provoking questions throughout this poem, it made me think a lot about what you have said, in particular about what happens to the energy from our own bodies when we die because energy never dies...A most enjoyable read

    You intrigue me Lady!

Your writing ability far, far exceeds my first impressions of your talent...
The scope of material which you write with amazing clarity and obvious understanding is astounding...but it is the ability to absorb your reader into...and hold their attention...on each subject/theme/style of write you pen is the wonderous thing here...
Clearly...you were given many gifts...and you masterfully share these blessings with the masses...
    You are a joy!
    Blessings! Tammy

    Outstanding

Great write, wonderful flow. You have done awesome job of incorpating a little of science with the human form without pushing and theory just the beauty to be found in each as they compliment each other. I read this twice once with out the background music and once with it. The music adds a sense of mystic to the write as your words are absorbed.

A very nice piece you have penned here in great detail. I also appreciate the explaination in the authors comment as most fail to realize that not all can r will comprehend what any one poet may or may not be talking about. Thus by including this you have given the reader a means to understand more in depth the piece in which you have written.

    Well Done!

Wow. This is a pretty intense poem! The wording is really heavy and I'm not sure that I really understand it all but I thought it sounded really good. I think I understand most of it about society and and how one human sees and feels another. Or something like that. It's my best guess anyhow. I thought you did a good job with this.

    Fantastic!!!!!!

Yeah I eat this stuff up like candy! Knock me on my arse!

I am impressed, because the poem stayed relevant to the topic, and even used a flower of beauty to dis-assemble into microscopic planets of atoms.

Just a superb poem, and yes- one of your best. The essence of matter and energy and mass is all intriguing...but I wonder...what kind of microscope shall we use to see into pure thought, and is pure thought in existance apart from matter, or dependent? 'I think, therefore, I am.'

Does Mind, and the presence of, need space?

I suppose we need a nice symposium on this...lol.

You are one amazing author and artist, Di!

Very different from the usual poetry you have written, but with a ultra feeling - up up and beyond as Buzz Lightyear would say LOL. Very impressive, indeed, the whole presentaion, picture and and thoughts penned in these lines. Loved the alliteration - super wording, and the questions it raised after reading. Sounds like quite the book. Not into sci-fi or fantasy at all but would love to see a movie based on this one.

    a truly thoughtprovoking poem ...
the lines that immediately resonated within me, were :

    "what levitates cannot fall
    what is pliant cannot shatter"

as well as the metaphor of the single flower petal with in a vast garden ...
it reminded me of a beautiful quote from william butler yeats (I guess): "who sees the world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower, holds infinity in the palm of his hand and eternity in an hour"

you are right, this is most certainly one of your most inspiring poems I have read from you until now ...

I have had this page up now for a few minutes, the first time I read this I was like...huh? Oh but don't panic, I had been awake apx. 5 minutes and still had not had coffee yet. I have been sitting here now for awhile sipping coffee and reading and rereading this piece. I have now awakened with some vivid images brought about by this write. Although, even with coffee it is a bit cryptic in some spots, I think that is what I like most about it, everytime I read it I posed a different meaning to those spots and still come up with a powerful read. We are all so tiny in a vast universe, but each of us play an integral part to it's existance as it to ours. Nicely done dear, I am honored to have been sent this link and have the privilege to read this.

    Bravo!

The fractals of quantum chaos. Beauty of the universe created by our collective efforts of thought and visualization. What most don't now is that in order to create order out of chaos,'disorder' MUST be introduced, and 'that is all our responsibilities for we were most certainly 'made' in God's image but that does NOT refer to a physical image but rather the fact that we also were given the gift of 'creativity'. Of that fact only a small percentage of humans are truly aware. But then that is why you and I are we.

    Great write.

    Good!

I've been reading your poetry quite a bit, this one is outstanding and very creative! Love your speech in the author box. I am an addict of quantum It's very hard to believe that a medium-size planet like us, orbiting round an average star in the outer suburbs of an ordinary spiral galaxy.. which in itself only one of about a million million galaxies in the observable universe. Yet the strong anthropic principle would claim that this whole vast construction of elemental fine particles (or beads as you call it) exists simply for our sake.. Academic brilliance has supported God centredness in our fantastic universe and His calling is the highest in creation and around us.. Blessings xx

You have indeed outdone yourself here. Considering who it is you have outdone, I can only say that my mind is expanded once again. That is why I read. You have airbrushed a perspective here! One that senses the truth of all things. But, as always, the place of no lies eludes those who describe with words, as words can be made to form lies. So, we watch the shadows on the wall cast by the flames behind us, until we get the hint from the shadows that we could turn around and see the objects themselves! If we are faithful to our desire and are not satisfied with our newfound truth, we may just get lucky enough to wander out of the cave and see the sun! Thank you for providing an arrow to mark the way. Three space bunnies for you!

I have read the book, the baby born who uses his brains capabilities that we do not, being able to see that one petal instead of the entire garden, focusing in on a single entity, I am not really in to sci fi but this book is very clever and makes you think about things, life force being a total thing, a concept of relativity. This is very deeply worded but a helluva write.

a fine write that has wonderful images and device used though it almostt out complicates itself in spots. The meaning I take from this is that the living Mother, Earth, is in and of itself seelf-sustaining thus perfect in the manner in which it accomplishes its feat. Which is true very well written di

my question is... what levitates? what is pliable? you touch on deep thoughts, and the humpty-dumpty allusion is a bittersweet touch. it makes me long for a meaning which has the same beautiful tidbits you have in here, but instead wrapped around some sort of seed besides a psycadelic image. Please, though, tell me if i missed the real meaning, and i will apologize as much as i can.

A little cryptic I guess...hmm. Have you read the book "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein? I am currently re-reading it, and this poem is definitely influenced by it. Tells a fictional tale of a manned trip to Mars which never returns, 20 years later another mission goes and finds that all original crew members died but there was a baby born. The baby was raised by members of the (supposed, fictional of course) native species of Mars. The result is a Being so vastly different from a Terran born man as to seem another species. He uses the vast portions of the brain that we, in our current physiological manifestation don't use. Not only is he capable of levitating self and others and objects, if he senses a "wrongness" he simply reaches out and it ceases to exist, like a gun. Disappears. When he's asked where the gun is, he says..."It is NOT" In addition because the gravity of Mars is significantly less than Earth his musculature is weak and spindly here. But his mental capabilities allow him the ultimate pliability, he simply "thinks" them stronger and more developed and in a few weeks they are. His physical anomalies though, are the least of his "strangenesses" His outlook, his philosophical truth is so vastly different that I'm at a loss to describe it briefly. But he feels that he is but an "egg" in his developement compared to "the old ones". So yes, the references in this do have a specific origin and intent, though it's interesting that you found them so enigmatic...so "martian" if you would. Thanks for the thought provoking review!

    Exquisite

"unstained with the taint of knowing" you've always had a way to turn a simple phrase into a thing of beauty. The creation of innocent perfection is a fitting subject for any poem, and this one is exceptionally sublime. I think that's why I put you on my fave's list the first time I read one of your pieces. The title is intriguing, the first and last lines are vivid ~ well, no critiques here. My only advice is to go for the Gold Deb
