To My Unborn Child

To my unborn child growing inside,
Know that my love for you will always be true.
Though your father will never accept you,
Know that my love for you cannot be denied.

Though I am young I am capable to love,
I will help you to shine brighter than the sun.
You are already my pride and joy, my shining dove.
My journey with you has already begun.

You may never know any other family,
But realize that is in no way your fault.
It is not you they hate, it’s me.
And I will shield you from their vicious assault.

You, my love, are my pride and joy, my everything.
I may not be able to provide much materialistically,
But I will make sure the words you hear do not sting.
And I will raise you right and support you to be the best you can be.

That's the kind of strength I like to hear from you! I want you to keep that hope and care in your heart forever and you can do no wrong. F**K the father and others who wont accept it, you will be the one who shows him/her the way to be and I am sure you will do a most gracious job at this task. Best wishes with this!

You have made a very strong point with this poem. Raw emotions all the way through evoke strong feelings of protectiveness, dislike for those who would reject your child, and love for the way you want to and do love your child. This poem, I'm sure, will mean much to the one it is written for.
The flow and the rhythm work really well as far as I can see...and well, the words are just perfect. Well done, well done indeed. I know that things will work out the way they are supposed to for you.

Sentiments well expressed in these lines - liked the flow, rhythm and rhyme as well in the verses of this poem - one day this will mean so much to your child, he will know that he was loved and wanted very much by you.

It's sad that he won't accept your baby, but I can't tell you how lovely this is. It is so so loving and one day your baby will be able to read it. Imagine how much it will mean to them! This is so nice! If only more people were like you.
