The Leaves Cry

Missing image
the grass leaf cries out it’s souls pain
feeling the sorrow of mankind
the plaintive cries of newborn babes
left wanting in this world they came

lives devoid of security
floundering in obscurity
so many people hurting now
lost souls unable to escape

they cannot heal one another
when they themselves are so hollow
needing something real to follow
always grasping at what’s not there

and so the leaves cry silently
for there’s no one to hear their plea
humanity needs help today
so let’s all bow our heads and pray

Please tell me what you think

The words you have penned here bring to mind a picture of the modern world we live in today, so many in want living on a planet that if managed properly would sustain every soul on it.... a beautiful planet suffering through mankinds twisted idea of what matters most!

I like your first line. I believe in adoption over abortion. Babies are gift from God. that is how I feel. Life is so precious.

    Great

This poem is so true. It's not just the leaves that cry out but all of creation. Humanity is in great need of help. I really like the second stanza cause I think it accurately describes our world today:
    they cannot heal one another
when they themselves are so hollow
    needing something real to follow
always grasping at what’s not there

That was sort of what I meant, for if even the blade of grass cries out, then it is really bad. I did not word that correctly, but you know what I mean. I am glad that you liked that stanza, (I did too). hugggssss!!!!!

your rhyme and rythmn accent your theme

i love the way you have rhyming couplets or two lines that rhyme in each stanza, it is charming and very effective. I think this may be an exotic form or something and i love how it works into your theme that only unity of pairs of opposites or unity of hearts or something is required if we are help to heal earth, and to do that we must also heal ouselves into being able to give. this means we are able, then, to accept spiritual guidance and leadership and act upon it. everything about this poem is nicely done. good work sis, ,,,Danni

I did not even notice, until I read your comment, that I had two lines in each stanza that rhyme. Rhyming comes so naturally to me, that I have to purposely think of not rhyming when I do one that doesn't. The second stanza is the only one that I really was conscious of, and decided to leave it. When writing a poem, rhymes are what come. thank you so much for reading this and commenting, I really appreciate it. hugggssss!!!!!

I love the third stanza as it touched me deep inside. The idea of all of us chasing each other around and none of us with direction is chillingly put across. This is of course only one example in a poem full of touching references. I actually think that this poem is a must read for all.

    Another Great Write

I love the way this poem flows and come together at the end for hope. Imagery and emotion (leaves too) are perfect. I enjoyed this write in every way. I truly like how you dispayed the pain and sorrow of man & nature, a very sensitive balance being abused. Thought provoking, Your friend, Don
