My favorite event is,
barrel racing.
I used to barrel race,
but that was in 3rd grade.
When I was little,
dad, grandma, and grandpa
took us to all the rodeos.
At the last rodeo
Dad even wanted to ride
the buffalo
but he played the poker game instead,
and the bull went straight at him.
Knocking him high in the air,
he came out limping.
One rodeo,
had the sweetest longhorn in the world.
He even let the smallest kids
pet him.
Oh! He was just so sweet.
Bull and bronco riding
is always interesting.
I do love calf roping too!
I just wish I could get a
horse of my own.
Just so I can enter
the barrel racing events,
and maybe carry,
“Old Glory”
at the beginning.
Author notes
I used option 3. Write about rodeo! Its a great thing tell me why or how you feel about it or your memories of it. DO NOT BASH RODEO! any of ya'll treehuggers that think rodeo is cruel DO NOT enter!
I tried to use at least most of the events in rodeos and some memories. I hope you like it. I grew up going to rodeos with dad, grandma, and grandpa. We always had a blast.
This was fixed up by Malabu. Thanks, Mally.

my wife barrel races this was a cool poem

A bit elementary but overal good write. I like how you used different events to let the reader see the rodeo.

Rodeo events are very exciting! So much going on and so fast. Always a thrill and you can get so caught up in the excitement just like your poem. It was great fun and carried the reader right along! Nicely done!

I AM a cowgirl. At heart or not, but mostly at heart because I just dream of horses and riding. I don't have one and I'd do ANYTHING just to get a horse. Even if I can't barrel race him, I can at least have him.

I don't like the left. I put all my poems in the middle. I don't know why, but to me, it doesn't look right if it's on the left.
