People always say to me
"Enjoy life before it gets old"
A smile could lift my world
but my lips are weighed down in gold
Voices drown me out with hypothetical praise
While my choices gather dust, rejecting better days
See, there's ease in uplifting someone else
But you have to convince yourself
Torture my strings to the right sound
I play myself into the ground
Left with 'x's for eyes and nothing to say
But "I'll learn to live another day"
So what is there to gain?
There's no resolve in a neutral grey
It seems my lowlife gene is here to stay
Throw me into
Who I've been
So I can replace
This sense of motionless sin
Left grasping for a clue
I'll stand behind, torn in two
One side will fight
While the other stares at his shoes
Motivation comes with a heavy price
Even water must freeze before it becomes
Hard just like ice
There's nothing to say to unambitious clay..
Please tell me what you think
