Embracing The Darkness

I embrace the darkness and breath in the silence
sitting alone with only this picture in my hands
it only reminds me of what I so foolishly lost

Never heard the melody you offered so freely
never saw the fire in your eyes that burnt so brightly
refused to see or accept the precious gift you were

Now I sit here an empty shell of what I was once
only memories and my friend JD to keep me company
and remind me of what I so foolishly lost

I will always have a hole in my soul and being
