New Fallen Snow

Missing image

New fallen snow leaves all the world
much colder than before
and with it Mephistopheles comes
knocking at my door

Oh, Angels! brace my frightened heart
"...you're sole, but not alone..."
as demon pounds his fiery fists
for him I am not home

my heart rejects covetousness
renouncing love's possession
dark days of prisoners long gone
love's light burned deep its lesson

there Mephistopheles in ire
on bolted, locked door pounds
his wanton wares I can't afford
thus will not hear the sounds

Amazing word play my poetic brother

You put that piece together with great Obedience, I say obedience because you listened and wrote down what you were telling yourself as you went...that is the beauty of rythem it flowed very nicely.

LOL quite right - you should never invite demons into your house no matter what they are trying to sell you - kitchens, cars, religion - ignore them, tell them to get lost.. whatever. Well done!

So shun the vagabond and flee ...

    towards a tower high
of truth and beauty and of glee
destroy foe with his lie ...

How do you do it? Either you read my mind or I am unconsciously copying your ideas so you recognize them. There is no other explanation. Is there?

Well... no. Mae West said wrastlin' with the devil. By gosh, I can't think of a better expert. Thanks.

Oh, Amera. Love means something so completely different to me than to you. Please see this again:

    my heart rejects covetousness
    renouncing love's possession
dark days of prisoners long gone
love's light burned deep its lesson

I do not step backwards. I have exactly what I need and simply appreciate the rest. Of course I am a man, so the trappings of a man surround me, but, the spirit has intervened. I am no longer just a man. I am just a man, and yet...

    Breathtaking...

I am truly left speechless, by the beauty of this write...

    My favorite part was:

    'there Mephistopheles in ire
    on bolted, locked door pounds
his wanton wares I can't afford
thus will not hear the sounds'

The devil, my friend is always there... always knocking, that is why I love that specific part so much..

Keep writing wit ink that never fade...

Yes. It has been a while since I have shared this much of myself. I am sure you understand. The demon wishes to promise me a fair young maiden in exchange for my soul. I have a secret the demon does not understand. By transcending the love of the flesh in full obedience to the blinding light the love of flesh cannot endure, I get the best of the maiden, give her my best, and keep my soul, all in accord with the blessings of the spirit. I am indeed a very lucky man. Thank you.
