Something's different
this I am sure
memories of beauty
with sweet scents
to tempt and allure
I think I was dreaming
but, surely I'm wrong
there were no evil doers
no black shadows
singing Satan's song
Maybe I am dead
and it is heaven I saw
why just a brief moment
was it a cruel joke
or just Murphy's law
I'll go back to sleep
to see if it's true
but if I don't wake up
take care my friend
and, good-bye you
Author notes
As someone who has suffered night terrors her entire life the image you portray would throw me into shock am afraid, I would assume I had died if I was to have a beautiful dream.

Suzi,
This is beautiful and sad. I suffered night terrors must my life. Yet for some reason they stopped about 10 years ago, maybe due to good med's! LOL
Therefore I feel for you and truly understand.
TYou did a wonderful job writing this. It could be taken with many meanings.
Great work!
May you overcome them with grace.

I like the image you put up here set for this poem. It really set the tone. With night terrors, I can understand that you wouldn't have beautiful dreams. Those terrors are not good. Good luck in the contest
