The flowers arranged in an intricate maze...
Beautiful but gloomy and for all to gaze...
A casket open. A body now hollow...
Sudden death is always tragic and hard to swallow...
The preacher stands in front of the tomb...
The mother weeps, her eldest never became a groom...
As the sermon begins, a simple few words are said...
It's only good manners to give dignity back to the dead...
"What might we remember him by?"
The preacher had asked before the service with a sigh...
"He was a son, a brother; and geek..."
"We remember him for the true love that he always did seek..."
"He tried his best to spread good intent..."
"His time on Earth was pleasantly spent."
"Let not this event drag anyone down..."
"Not for a moment should you let yourselves frown..."
"His family knows deep down inside..."
"That towards the end he had nothing to hide..."
"Honest, caring, intelligent and true..."
"Chris, we will surely miss you."
"But deep in our hearts, you're still there..."
"And even in death, we'll always care..."
So true would be these words were I to drop to the floor...
I'd only want them all to move on, and nothing more.
I'd like to be remembered in soul and not mind...
Because I believe love on Earth is the power of our souls combined...
Author notes
1) WRITE YOUR OBITUARY - I'd like you to be creative, use your imagination. How would you like to be remembered? Make it personal. What would the person giving the speech at your funeral say?

Do you often ask yourself what it would be like if you died?

I think that you did a good job here but I dont think you met the requirements of the option. If you would like to revise this and make it your Eulogy, I would be glad to re read, but as it is now, even though well written, it isnt what I requested.
Good luck Poet,
Criss
