Several months have gone
since you passed away.
We are still trying
to get through life day by day.
We still don't understand
We still wonder why
You changed your lifestyle and
Turned away and died.
Mom cries and sits by your grave daily
She says she can't stand to leave her little baby.
Dad says he got drunk and cried a lot
But it didn't help him because when he sobered up
you were still gone and he was not.
I try to be the strong one and act like I'm okay
When truely all I want is to run away.
My heart aches for you daily and
I cry until my tears run dry.
My only comfort now is that I'll see you in heaven
and once again you'll be by my side.
Until then, rest baby brother
and know that I love and miss you
like no other.
Please tell me what you think

Thank you so much for letting me know you delved further into this! This poem is so poignant that it brought tears to my eyes... I am incredibly sorry for your loss but the more you write even if you don't post it here the more you will begin to heal. I keep a notebook near me at all times just so I can randomly write the little things that pop into my head... it's great therapy. Beautiful poem.
Love and luck in all you endeavor.

That was painful to read. Losing a loved one is always hard, and a child ever harder. And that was understood well through your word choice and expression. Thank you, and good luck. I hope you take comfort and care in the time you did have with him, and know it wasn't the last.

Oh, darling I am sorry. Your loss is clearly felt in this piece. I really feel for you - just know that love transcends all and that his spirit permeates you with love each day. I wish you well.
