What The Word Is Worth

She still cries over him,
Though she knows he's not worthy,
And she still relies on him,
Though she knows he's not sturdy,

And he spoke a million times of love,
But never once meant it,
And she asked for a love note,
But forgot he should have sent it,

But these broken hearts and joyous souls,
Converge with great contempt,
But to know that love, especially,
From pain is not exempt,

And to know this pain is nothing,
Next to never knowing love,
And to know this feeling, as I do,
This push is nothing to a shove,

And she shed a day of tears,
For the love she thought had faded,
Though the words had passed his lips,
His affection had since jaded,

But even all the champions,
Fall off the horse some times,
But they always get back up,
And back on the horse they climb.
