Pledge

I would like as many people as can be.
To make a pledge along with me.
No longer allow others to live in shame.
Especially when so many are living in pain.
It's time that people did what was right.
At least think about, someone elses plight.
Help someone if you can today.
Be their voice, so others will hear what they say.
I personally have pledged this as my goal.
This is the only way, for the survival
of my soul.
I will never again just stand by.
Watching as others continually cry.
I will speak so others can be heard.
This I promise, I've given my word.
So won't you go along with me?
And today make a pledge, to hold up another's
integrity.

We can do so much more for each other, than we do.
If you see an injustice, speak up. Make it second nature, and it will cause a ripple affect. I am, will you?

    This is a wonderful idea. If we all did just one thing a day to help someone else - this world would be a totally different place. I do try to do things for others, tho sometimes when I am busy or stressed it is harder to do. Thanks for the reminder 'to do unto others...'

    yeah i think you make some good points here about helping others, charity starts at home and all that, i was puzzled to see you havnt put this in a category, surely this can go in society and other related things.

    another thing is the punctuation, although i would normally say have no punctuation. i do believe this needs some, but not this much, it almost feels like an infestation.

    good write and crack on.

      It's nice to know that my message gets out. I rarely put any of my poems into catagories, I like to leave that to the reader themselves. I'll think about the punctuation, it just seems to be how I write. Thanks again, Connie.
