There's No Such Thing as Love

There’s a hole where my soul used to be
Because you’ve taken it away from me
Left me for dead
Alone in my bed
To weepingly beg and plea

I was second in your heart
Right from the start
No match for the games you played
But you trumpetted your love
So I saw stars above
And imagined we’d never fade

You said I made the choice
And the sound of your voice
Almost made me believe
With my head in my hands
I now understand
You’re the one who wanted to leave

Yet I still weep, sob, and cry
Because all you said was a lie
One after another ‘til they came apart
So the pieces left behind
Still rip and tear my mind
And make bleed what is left of my heart

Please tell me what you think
