Idependence Hits the Ground

Here I go again
with my stubborn independence.
It's happening again
with my nose in the air
and my hand letting go
and my feet too close to
      the ground.

I keep tripping and falling
and I'm so tired of hitting
        the ground.

So this time
I'm gonna reach for you.
This time
I'm gonna depend on you
'cause I know you'll
help me keep my feet on
        the ground.

Author notes

Pretty self-explanatory; realizing I have Jesus and finally giving in to depending on him.

Please tell me what you think

This illustrates EXACTLY how I feel... just don't tell my aunt and cousin. They'll never let me live it down, and they'll be all like "being forced to go to church did you some good", but that's not what did it...

Anyway, the structure of the poem was good, and the overall poem could signify many things, but it's spiritual to you and obviously means something special. Wonderful work

    Cheers,
