Where are the words

Where are the words
for which I am searching?
There is a lot I wish to express,
but I don't know how.

I want to sit down,
and write 5 different things in a row.
But, I can't find the words
for what I want to say.

Are the words in my head,
just in a place I can't access?
Are they hiding in a closet,
somewhere in my house.

Or are they under my bed,
waiting for me to look there?
But I checked there...
all I saw was blackness.

Maybe they're in my closet,
hanging among my clothes...
I shook all my clothes,
and all I got was dust.

I checked all the boxes and shelves,
all my storage spaces too.
I even checked my friends' houses,
just in case they went there.

Maybe they're out looking for me,
just like I'm looking for them.
Or maybe I just left them somewhere,
and just forgot that I left them there.

If you see these missing words,
please let me know.
I can't find them anywhere,
no matter how much I look.
