A younger man that stood six feet tall
With grace from heights he would so fall
He looked so normal from the head on down
But when he jumped no one could frown
High jump was his glory fame
Seven feet five was his highest game
He would fall so far it was insane
It was as if the sky was his domain
How he did it no one knew
Although at times its as if he flew
Over the bar and floated back down
On the mat with out a sound
Arizona state was his college
Where he didn’t care much about knowledge
Olympics is what his mind was on
But we boycotted it and his dream was gone
The president wanted to give him a medal
Make him a hero but he slammed on the break pedal
He was insulted as I now know
To bad its now he will never go
For his last fall would end it all
The thoughts in his mind he would never recall
Off the scaffolding with no control
The ground turned his knees into soft coal
Olympic athlete to construction working in a second
Now his body is breaking down and it hurts I reckon
He pushes me to go for what I want
I wouldn’t change anything he says nonchalant
