I Love You Too...

Missing image
Whispers in the cool breeze bring your voice
as I recall the words you spoke to me.
Maybe I didn't seem to notice... then...
so I want to tell you how much they meant.

Loving you has brought my world a softness,
unblemished by the hardness of life's pain...
Your sweet smile creates joy within me,
and I am able to become myself.

As I listened to the words your voice spoke,
I was in awe of all that you did say.
Unable to express emotions felt,
I may have seemed to feel nothing at all.

The opposite is quite the truth for me.
I was afraid to respond for the tears,
and in fear I'd ruin the moments glee.
It is now I express my joy in you,

By saying, Darling, I do love you too.

I know what you mean about not wanting to ruin 'the moment'. Often times I find words do love no justice at all. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,

Often on reflection, we may recall some spoken word of endearment that at the time seemed not to have an impact, as our reaction can be unexpected.... sometimes giving the impression we have not been affected by words of love or encouragement.... pondering on words spoken from the heart from a dear one can bring joy to the heart, lifting the spirit to heights we thought we no longer had access to.
This is a very reflective poem, the ending being a very positive one because in the end the important words were given back, a genuine reaction from one heart to another.

    Well Done!

it is sad that often times we do not get the second chance to say these words. that or the one we say them to does not want a second chance. either way, it is terribly sad. thank you for reading and leaving such a wonderful comment. viyanna
