Daddy

extraordinary
and so spectacular,
with very little hands,
next to his big ones,
both smiling so proudly,
her laugh fills the room,
a bright small toothless smile,
her tiny body,
his tiny kiss meant for her,
and only for her,
she stares up at her dad,
she grows more tired,
her pretty eyes curious,
she is so tiny,
her little eyes closing,
she says just one word,
his eyes shine with pure joy,
as she says again "daddy"
I watched him carefully,
as love filled his eyes,
he rocked her to sleep.

This made me think about my dad... he's not my real dad, but he's acted like more of a father than my real dad ever has. I miss him... a lot. Lovely write, darling. Keep 'em coming!
